Counterspar
What we hold, and for how long
Last updated July 14, 2026
Counterspar runs without accounts. You never create a login and we never ask for your name. That is not the same as anonymous, so this page is exact about what we store, who touches it, and how to have it erased.
What you hand us
When you paste an offer, we store that text so the round can run. Real offers often carry real details: your name, a company, compensation, a recruiter. Your replies during the sparring round are stored the same way. If you ask us to email you a debrief or a license key, we store that email address. When you buy a deal pack, our payment provider passes us the email tied to the purchase.
You are never required to paste anything identifying. If you would rather not, redact the names and the employer before you paste. The sparring works the same on a redacted offer.
What we create from it
From your offer we generate the counterpart persona, the full transcript of the round, a grade, the money-left-on-the-table figure, and, on a paid deal, the counter-offer email and phone script. These are stored against a random id, not your identity.
The anonymous id and cookies
A random id in a first-party cookie (cs_uid, one year) scopes your free round so one deal stays free per browser. It holds no name and no email. A second cookie (cs_checkout, one day, http-only) ties a purchase to the browser that started it, so only you can collect the key on the success page. We set no third-party or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other sites.
Who processes your data
We keep the list of processors short and name every one:
- Cloudflare hosts the app and runs the AI models. Your offer text and transcript are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to generate the counterpart and the debrief.
- Polar is our merchant of record. It collects and processes your payment and the email tied to it, and remits tax. We never see or store your card details.
- OpenRouter and Anthropic run the upgraded model on paid deals only, when the premium engine is enabled. Free rounds never leave Cloudflare.
- kemero (our own infrastructure at kemero.io) sends the debrief or license-key email you ask for. It receives only the email address and public figures, never your offer text or transcript.
- Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we self-host, counts page visits with no cross-site tracking and no personal profiles.
The public scorecard is safe to share
A scorecard link (the /s/ pages) shows only your grade, the money left on the table, the difficulty level, and the date. It never contains your offer text, your numbers, the counterpart name, or any names. Share it freely.
How long we keep it
- Free rounds: the pasted offer text and the transcript are automatically scrubbed 30 days after your last activity on that deal. The privacy-safe scorecard can remain so shared links keep working.
- Paid deals: kept while your deal pack is active so you can reopen the debrief and run rematches. Ask us and we will delete them sooner.
- Emails you gave us: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
- Purchase records: Polar and we keep the minimum required to meet tax and accounting obligations.
Your rights, and deleting your data
You can ask us to show you, correct, export, or delete the data tied to you, and to stop any follow-up email. Under Sweden and the EU that is your right, and we honor the same request wherever you are. Email support@counterspar.com and, because there is no account to log into, include the license key or the scorecard link so we can find the right records.
